A corporate account billing conversion was needed to convert high profile corporate accounts from a "national" billing system run by a competitor, to the Client’s regional systems. A scope document was not required, as this was an imperative that had been dictated by external competitive forces. What was required was a detailed plan that would map out the key project requirements for resources, data, testing strategies and conversion tasks.

A detailed analysis was executed by BICS to determine exactly which accounts and which customers required national status versus regional status. BICS then scoped the requirements and drafted the detailed project plan for conversion. This called for documentation of all the business rules required for the conversion and migration process, and outlining of specific project team roles. BICS also performed a key communication role by facilitating meetings between the remote systems resources and the local business users. Critical to remaining commited to the project timelines was quickly translating the requirements, documenting key decisions and project plans that both groups could understand.
