Conversion and Migration of Legacy Systems to a Proprietary Platform
|
|
| |
An application development company that had built and installed an application to manage newspaper deliveries. While in operation, its scope was world-wide with key customers in North America and abroad.

BICS was brought on board when the Client discovered they were having problems converting and migrating customers from their legacy systems to the NTI platform. Timeline and budget issues arose, and they were experiencing difficulty in trying to fully determine the scope of the underlying problem.

As outside consultants, BICS was able to view the problem from a different perspective. This gave them the ability to take an objective look at the Client’s conversion process and recommend specific changes, especially with regards to pinpointing the specific customer requirements that would shorten timelines, improve quality and reduce cost. BICS facilitated weekly workshops to help achieve this, and to help determine as-is and as-should-be issues, and better define the roles and responsibilities of the process and related issues.

Roles were clearly defined for each process resource and numerous control points were established to better communicate with the customer. This helped to more clearly map out the process for both the internal and external teams.
